Sharing Your Faith Does Not Have to Be Difficult

I believe in the Bible… every word. I believe it is relevant, it is pertinent, it is LIFE! That it’s the bread by which I can have “abundant life.” It speaks of my Savior, it tells of my future, it withholds nothing that I need. It exhorts me to excellence, rebukes me when needed, gives me wise counsel, and consoles me when sorrows come. It is not missing any detail that I need to live successfully in every area. It is an awesome love letter, history lesson, and doctrine of deliverance! That’s what I believe, and that’s why I use my writing talent to create witnessing cards (gospel tracts).

I truly believe that most Christians want to share their faith, but they’re not comfortable with the “approach.” They’re afraid that they’ll either offend someone or end up looking look like a buffoon. The idea is to share your faith in such a way that it actually does the unbeliever some good. Witnessing cards can be a gentle and non-intrusive way to impart spiritual truth. You simply hand the person the card and say something like, “Read this when you get a quiet moment.” I always fold my cards in half… this way they’re smaller and only the white back shows. If they start to read them, I usually say, “O please don’t read it now. Save it as a surprise or a mystery for later.” The main thing is, make it casual and friendly.

Let’s face it, the Word of God is what saved you. Nothing else. For some strange reason, I think people actually believe that they need some new fangled thing in order to share the message of the cross. Actually, it’s still just the simple words from the Bible that get the job done. Think of how you got saved… was it someone telling you about Jesus? Something you read about Jesus? It always comes down to that, and that only. We are saved by grace, through faith; and that faith comes from the Word of the Lord! Fishing for folks’ souls in not rocket science-just cast out your line (with a witness card) and rescue someone from the deep waters of death… back into the Living Waters of Jesus!
