In Exodus 15:26, the bible says, "....I am the Lord that healeth thee". Healing is an attribute of God and a redemptive blessing that belongs to the believer. Redemption is not complete without healing. For this reason, about eighty percent or more of the redemption ministry of Christ was on healing.
Healing of the body is redemptive, as is salvation of the soul. Before the fall there was no sickness. When sin came, sickness also came. Sin brought sickness and sickness brings death. It is a chain reaction.
In Exodus 15:26 God promised Israel that if they would diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord their God, and do all that which is right in his sight and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statues, He would put none of the diseases on them.
When the sin question is settled, the sickness question is also settled. This is why Jesus said in Mark 2:5 when healing a paralytic, "...Thy sins are forgiven thee." If Jesus is our saviour, that automatically makes Him also our healer. In John 5:14 after Jesus had healed the impotent man, He said unto him, "...Go sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon thee." So divine healing is a confirmation of the process of salvation and redemption.
You must have the same faith that saved you to believe that God will finish your redemption in the healing of the body. James 5:16 tells us to confess our faults one to another for healing. Some healing is miraculous and some is recovery. The miracle happens instantly according to your faith. Mark 16:16 tells us that those that believe shall among other things, lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover. They will get better. It is a process! Once prayed for by the laying on of hands or the anointing of oil or by the use of a prayer cloth or by the hearing of faith, (Mark 6:13, Acts 19:12, Luke 7:7) you must then believe from the heart that God will accomplish the good work.
Sarah waited for twenty-five years for the healing of her barrenness. According to Hebrews 11:1, real faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen. This perfect faith does not look at time, symptoms, feelings or reasoning. Substance faith or perfect faith only recognises the word. It looks to the promise of God and testifies positively, calling those things, which are as though they are not, and those that are not as though they are!
That faith does not fail, it does not grow weak but stronger everyday, being persuaded that He who made the promise is able also to perform it according to Romans 4:16-22.
To confirm that truly God is a Healer, He sent us a prophet who had a gift of healing ministered to him by an angel. Thousands around the world were healed through the ministry of Brother William Marrion Branham. Tapes and books containing these healing testimonies are available upon request. Surely we can sing, "The Great Physician now is near, the sympathising Jesus." If you are sick, believe that the same Jesus who saved you is willing also to heal you. He paid the same price for your salvation and healing - the shed blood. Believe now and receive your healing.
